Zhejiang Ocean University is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province. This is one of the key universities in Zhejiang Province founded in 1958. It was first named Zhoushan Fisheries College; in 2016, then after several name changes and mergers, it was named Zhejiang Ocean University.
The university offers 48 undergraduate majors, including 5 national-level first-class undergraduate majors, 2 national characteristic majors. There are 12,119 full-time students and 1,189 faculty members. Among the faculty members, there are 445 doctoral degree holders.
The university has two campuses located in Xincheng and Dinghai offering a beautiful campus experience with its pleasant scenery. It covers a total area of enormous 2608 acres, including 720 acres of sea area.
