Honghe University, also known as HU, is located at Mengzi, a city in the southeast of Yunnan province, china. The history of Honghe University is traced back to 1978 and then the institution was known as Red River College.
Yunnan Mengzi Teachers College, Red River Radio, and Television University campus amalgamated to form Red River College. It is one of the comprehensive undergraduate key universities of Yunnan provincial and municipal and the only undergraduate institution in Honghe state.
