University Overview

Central South University is situated in Changsha, a city of history and the capital of central south Hunan province. Amalgamating Hunan Medical University (HMU), Changsha Railway University (CRU), and Central South University of Technology (CSUT), the CSU was established in the April 2000s. CSU is listed as one of the A- level ‘Double First Rate’ universities.

Presently, the university comprises 6 national key primary disciplines, 12 national key secondary disciplines, and 61 national key clinical specialties. Besides, it has 31 schools with 104 programs for undergraduates, 46 primary programs for postgraduates, 32 programs for doctoral candidates, and 32 post-doctoral research centers.

Besides, CSU owns several hospitals in China which are Xiangya Hospital, the Second Xiangya Hospital, the Third Xiangya Hospital, Xiangya Stomatological Hospital, Affiliated Cancer Hospital, Haikou Hospital, and Zhuzhou Hospital of Xiangya School of Medicine

The School of International Education (SIE) has been established aimed at several goals for foreign students. A general office, Admission Office, International Students Office, Confucius Institute office are in SIE.

This school promotes education abroad and provides a comfortable international atmosphere to overseas students.

To strengthen global cooperation, collaboration and to produce quality education, this school was established and is still working on reinforcing its goals.

The university has altogether 10 buildings for international students accommodation in four campuses, which are the South campus, Xiangyang New campus, Xiangyang old campus, and Railway campus.

The international students’ residential houses are totally furnished with beds, mattresses, bookcases, tables, chairs, and air conditioners. Besides, each apartment has a common laundry room, kitchen, wifi, and balcony.

To ensure safety and support students, all buildings have a duty office control access system. Furthermore, buildings are under surveillance cameras and have staff to clean and make the dormitory secure.
